Today is a good day,
Unlike so many before.
A smile, a laugh,
I feel new, reborn.
They say that time heals,
I am beginning to understand.
Everything happens for a reason,
It's all in God's hands.
Life can be hard,
We all know it's true.
It makes you think twice,
Before everything you do.
It's taken over a year,
To see the smile on my face.
It has taken a lot,
Put me in my place.
I now know myself,
More so than in the past.
I just can't help but think,
How long will it last?
I shall enjoy it for now,
Maybe go out with friends.
I just really hope,
This good mood doesn't end.

Like a dove, I am now flying free

Heather, that you feel "new, reborn"
gives so much to this poem.  Thank you
for sharing the good mommy moments...

That your smile is returning and the blues are lifting, is a wonderful sign that you're healing. You'll always remember the sweet memory, but you can also press on and make your life happy again.I'm so proud of you for moving forward.
