~*~

She is a woman of contrasts
tiptoeing on the edge
jagged and razor sharp
teetering on a totter
until she tips herself short.

She is a woman of contrasts
in the eyes of the beholder
sensual in her watery curves
cool and wading
her pulse running deep.

She is a woman of contrasts
skirting the trade winds
skimming over paradise
the sea to her refuge
whitewashing the sun.

She is a woman of contrasts
alone in the shadows
stark as the night
fading ballroom gowns
discarded in dreams.

She is a woman of contrasts
betting against all odds
passed and over turned
who laid her heart down
and lost...

Amazing writing, as usual.

To the library with this one.

until she tips herself short.

I think she may be selling herself short... for this lady's a winner... she just hasn't found anyone yet who's worth sharing the prize. *S*

No, sweet Lori, she hasn't lost.......this woman
has just not happened upon the right person
to give
her the love she wants and deserves, yet.

One day she will, though.....one day when she
least expects it. Just wait and see. When someone,
as she has as much love to offer, they are bound to be
found sooner or later.
Heart hugs to you, my friend

Smiling at Ed's comment.
This was very deep, in the rhythm of the sea.
Always a keeper. TD

I really like this poem is built up. I knew that something was going to really put a grip on things by the last first. It was definatley an excellent climax with an unsuspected ending.

(big hugggsssssss) That woman has far from lost, she has won, for she now realizes that love was the trick hand and she only grows stronger determined to discover what true love really feels like! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, I send many angel hugs your way, God Bless You, this is fantastic, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lori, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
