This slant of light
From here seems more
The glow
Of your face fresh scrubbed
And shining from the moments we spent
In our own splendid shine

I bathe myself in it
Trying to capture the essence of a world
Backlit to perfection until the details
Stand alone

Each a tightly held bit
Of some unknown explore with textured
Colors one feels in hand
As if nibs of silken clothe were
Slid across the skin
And senses expand

I hear the sounds of green
In counter point to red
Sing across my eyes

As this the new of season
Finds it’s own begin

I would grieve the days
Since we touched
But my heart will not beat
Enough to hold all the nights
That left me cold

For winter comes

And I am just a man
Seeking this
The perfect light
To see you in

I enjoy the word "backlight"...
it brings such a serene feel
to sepia...

You know, makes me think of a time I was touched by a gentle man such the one you write about...*sigh*

OH...the last 4 lines jumped out at me. How could anyone who writes with such depth of feeling be 'just a man'? Amazing Ron.

You aren't just a man, but as man full of heart and depth to his soul that would illuminate anyone's inner spirit.
