Listening to every heart

The Master Poet

He mentally sifts sheer sounds
Like silk between one’s ears,
Or sprays an ocean’s soothing rush,
Relinquishing one’s mind to let loose
Of day

Then he twists, a turn, to
Paint for me
A lake’s limpid light,
Blending blues into greens,
Spotting browns and a white feather
And I am there,

Relaxed, refreshed.

But there is more.

He squeaks open a door,
Allowing shadows to traipse again,
Giggling and blushing,
Then whisks whispers with a broom,
As they stalk my senses, talking,
Walking…

Then the window
Is raised,
I am forced to see the light
As a breeze brushes curling tendrils
Of sense,

My lungs
Loose their capacity to fill
My throat becomes too dry, my eyes
Burn

And I pray, a god-almighty please, please,
Let him do it
Again.

Hello Karilea

In words of John Denver's "Annie's Song" -

"You fill up my senses, like a night in the forest."  I have felt this so many times when I read the words of many a poet and I keep coming back for more.  I get so much from so many, merely through reading words.
I know for a fact that so many people will be able to relate to your beautiful words.

Take care.......Sue

Well, Karilea, I have in mind quite a few poets I've read.....and this is the feeling exactly.

I know the ones "who know who" they are will certainly appreciate this. Thanks for sharing it with the rest of us.

(smiles) Truly every honest poet is a master poet in my mind, for only the honest can bring such extraordinary visions to ones mind and heart! If that Polaroid magic is lacking, you know the truth there, God Bless You, this is dazzling, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Karilea, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Yes indeed! May they continue to supply us with the fruits of their labors. (I'm just greedy that way...hehe)

Oh, and Karilea?
Someone made a request for a Sunshine/wranx post. It'd be a pleasure, just let me know. (And if you have a few lines layin' around clutterin' up the place, send a few this way.I seem to be in short supply).

He squeaked open this rustic door
circa 1950, or somewhere near that
vintage time when clover grew upon
the meadow beneath the house, as
a swing swung lazily upon a country
porch....and when it opened,  he
smiled and saw true beauty.

Beautifully written KJ.....this
is superb.

This whole community feels like this to me.
Each poet is different;
each a star in their own write.
I like them all
some for color,
some for taste of emotion,
some because they are so bright,
but all because each one helps me to see things
that without them
I wouldn't see.

I don't know who you wrote about,
but for me
you said what is great
about this whole community.

Thank you for sharing this.

Every poet here's my master.
There's not a single one,
not one, I haven't learned from,
not a single one I don't respect
and value, either as a friend
or as a friend in the making.
I have never been part of a group
that had such an exemplary social
structure within itself, where I felt
welcome, or even potentially so.
Here I'm welcomed.
Here I give and receive acceptance.
Here I find friendship.

Here is home.

Karilea...Your words echo the way I feel about so many of the wonderful poets here, including you and others.
Sometimes the words they write just reach out and wrap you tenderly in their embrace and other times they shake you back into reality.I've learned so much since coming to PIp, especially how others can touch your heart with their words.Enjoyed very much...Paul
