Moonshiner rednecks,
at Hog Yeller's Bog,
with eyes buggin' out,
like yellow-bellied frog.

Tongues hanging down,
brains full of booze,
belly-scratching swamp men,
hillbilly schmooze.

There's belchin' and burpin',
and slobberin' down shirt.
Horseflies buzzin' about,
As pigs roll in dirt.

Can't win for losin',
so they don't even try.
Just knockin' back moonshine,
~ "Here's mud in yer eye!"

I was just gonna reply..."That sounds like
one of Cpat's relatives?....great write..kinda reminds me of the old days down
here in Alabama....

She wasn't much to look at,
Her personality was nil,
She wasn't the kind of girl
that would give you a thrill.

Her father was a moonshiner,
With his business on a hill,
but none of this bothered me,
For I love her STILL!

hahahahahaha... this was hilarious!!! Fun reading!!!! My husband used to live in the Ozarks and said that's about the size of it. Lots of people had stills up there he said. I lived in a town that was small, here in Texas but it's a suburb of Houston. I've never had the pleasure of living in the country, but I would love to!!!!!! I could just see this. hahahaha

Linda, You've described, exactly, a small "compound" a couple miles downstream from me.
Then, there's the little "town" that exists under the highway bridge. I swear that place NEVER sees sunlight!

Nice one, gal!

I can picture it now, the year is 1492--Oops!--That was when Colombus sailed the ocean blue! I meant to say 1792.

I can picture it now, the year is 1792...lol

Cheers! Bottoms up!
Here's to passing the jar around!--Now what is it that people do in jars? I think it starts with a "p". lol

Sorry for rambling on nonsensically, but I only slept for two hours last night and I'm feeling silly and giddy!

Loves 'n hugs a jars of amber liquid! lol--oh, oh! There I go again!
