The rain drops whispering against the
window in rhythm ~ leaves me scantly
mesmerized ~ I see silhouettes dancing
as lightning flashes through  windows
against bare walls ~and with murmurs
of distant thunder serenading me into
tranquil feelings ~  I stare blindly at the
empty picture frame hanging over the
fireplace ~  while the flickering logs slowly
turn to ash ~ an image appears in the
empty frame ~ but my vision is clouded
by tears of sadness ~ as my thoughts
drift into memory's of my last rendezvous
with love
