Here, in early afternoon
The shadows still cling
Tight against walls and tree,
Not yet in yawning stretch
Of evening and far before
The wrap of nights blanket
On all that now
Reflects the light in diamond tipped
points of sun.

This time seems so easy
To laze about in thoughts of you
Remembering perhaps
Early morning dew on leaves
As they danced outside our window
In daybreaks breeze
And I
Was wrapped in the sigh of you
That kept me warm

Early times
Breathed in a rise and fall
That was excited by the brush of skin
Bare walled begins
And the smell of love’s original sin

Soon enough,
The moon will rise
And the wane of seasons
Remind me again

“Winter has no friend.”

For now,
I’ll ignore the shadow's limbs

Dreaming

“Would your lips meet mine so tender?
Or would your shaded eyes
Pretend?”

You would just beam
that light on any pretender
and the truth
will out.

I know!

I suspect no pretense would be possible... not after this. *S* This is beautiful, Cap'n! *S*
