Ship-Of-Time
~*Marge Tindal*~

From the fountains of youth
to immersion in baptismal pool
I boarded the ship-of-time
for the ride of my life~

The river of life's waters
coursing through me
each tributary awash with new
Gorging the path of watered journey
deep within the making of me~

Sometimes I challenged the river
swimming for life against the current
pulled downward in swirling thoughts
so dark that I was sure it was my last gulp
only to be bobbled to the surface
held afloat by the lifeline of friends~

I have held hands with the teardrops of many
knowing the sure breath-of-death
watching the currents of time
pulling them away~

Still I traversed the swell of life's waters
surviving as best God would allow
Somehow ... and somewhere in-between
joy overran the banks of me
spilling onto the shoreline of others~

Now in this time of life's river voyage ending
I face the mighty ocean of His grace
sharing my soliloquy with God
knowing He sees beyond my face~

Thank you, Lord ... for giving me
the waters of life from which to drink
There were times I felt alone
and surely on the brink
of drowning
Always, always ... you gifted me a reason
to cling to the anchor of you
And now I humbly beg passage
aboard the ship of afterlife
where the redemption tides will sweep me
peacefully onto that golden shore
of Heavenly promise
forevermore~

Hiya Margie, this is absolutely lovely, what a picture, image, illustration, talk about suffering for us, do we really know what suffering is?

Beautifully written and formed. Your a dear sweet woman.

Thank you, everyone~

Inspire comes from the darndest places~
This one arrived as simply as running a tub full of warm bath water ... somehow the water theme ran through to my inking well and landed with these beautiful thoughts~

I am thankful for each inspiring moment, regardless of how cold the bath water becomes while I pen it~

Ahhh, such is the life of a poetess~
