This is a story of my feelings and how people have tried to stop me from expressing my heart.
So fellow writers do not listen to those that judge and cast stones. If writing is held within your heart...
Write on aim for the star.
Love Bon-Bon

Straps Drawn Tight

Insecurity wraps around you
like a blanket with straps drawn tight.
People casting pearls of wisdom
or
are they really people
casting burning stones of self doubt?
How many roads in your life have you not traveled because you were unsure?
I have not traveled
many a road because of uncertainty.
Being a quiet person,
others believe they can say anything they
wish,
casting their burning stones of self doubt.
These words casting doubt,
“ You on a plane, never, you’d be sick
before you got off the ground.
Just sit and wait, this is for your own
good, when I have the time
I will take you to see your sister.”
Years later my first plane ride,
what an adventure
the glorious excitement.
I should not have listened
to the words that were casting self doubt.
These words casting self doubt,
“You writing poetry, you are
wasting your time,
you should stop,
your words are worthless.”
Another saying, “These books are not cut exact, they are a little off, throw them away they are no good and besides some of
your words are fair,
not worth publication.
As these words flow
from these wise people another sits near with
tears streaming down her beautiful face because of my expressive words.
In another lifetime I would have stopped this need I have inside to
express myself,
but now,
I will never stop until I have not one
breath to breathe.
If I could impart words of wisdom to all that read my words.
I would say,
“Take my hand I will give you strength-
You can be anything you wish
Reach for the stars and the vast universe
Do not let people wrap you in a blanket, with straps drawn tight.”

I sent your poem to a few people I know that take the art of writing WAY to seriously, and I hope they see the message within this.  Writing is good for the soul, and there is no good or bad, just like feelings - writing just "is."  Nicely put, and you keep on writing whatever your heart dictates, as life is just too darn short.

This was the best part of the poem!

Lady, if you ever stopped writting I'd be the one with tears running down my face, I'd miss that beautiful way of expression you possess...

Wise wise words, don't let anyone stop you from enjoying life...ever, and if you can't find someone to go with, don't sit home alone, get going and experience, b/c that's the beauty of life...

Thank you sweet woman, for your always significant and loving words.  And your books are perfection!

Your sis, Lee J.  Smiles and hugs, PS This ones is many of my favorites of yours....indeed Bravo!

Wonderful message Bonnie indeed....and the truth of this is that good or bad will never matter as long as it is from.......the heart.

I enjoyed this much, thank you for sharing.

Don't go in the water until you've learned how to swim......I said that to a close friend today, as an example of what not to do.....You are not just right in this, you're hair-raisingly right.

(big hugggsssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, it saddens me deeply to know there is even at least one person in this world who doesn't believe in seeking or pursuing a dream, or who spends a life as a cynic not believing in anything and seeing existence as pitiful! (wipes tears) Even when Earth is no heaven, God provides us with so many beautiful things we find with our hearts and I believe our voice, our song, is one of the most beautiful things, and I for one am proud to write and be who I am! (big hugggsssssss) I wish the whole world can read this and relate too to your golden heart, sweet friend, this is beautiful, I'm adding this to my library now, yay, and may you always chase rainbows, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Bonnie, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
