Moved from a shack to a barn

This is an excerpt from an IM conversation with Susie
(posted with her blessing, provided I clean it up)
Love you Baby!
............................

How can I love you this much?
You take breath from me
into your own

And savor it
like a fine meal
an old spirit

And taste it
within your mouth
and breathe it back

For me to live once again

As familiar as a campfire
from generations ago

The one we may have shared
or been comforted by

Seeing you glowing by that fire
orange red flickers lighting all
but the darkest of places

Famialiarity
blended with the unknown

And it’s within those shadows
that I seek you
( I hide within those flames)

Look for your totem
the animal that rules you

Searching…
for the attributes
of the dove within you

The bird of peace...
Loves’ own totem

In the distance, I hear echos
and  lean into you
with the unspoken inquiry
(is that you, my love? )

And cover us with our hides
ancient furs to keep us warm

Even as we warm
the others heart

Bedding down in the brush
into the arms of the other

Finding…
in that self imposed darkness

Another
of like kind
and like mind

One soul
shared by two

Skin, tells our histories
as twin flames flicker

Hands speak our doubts
Mouths explore our hopes

Line upon line we cross
palms turned to sky

Our breath
becomes a thing of substance
as we pant out our pleadings
and is painted on flesh

A mark
The mark known from birth
but never recognized

Under those rough skins
the dove is granted flight
even as she is taken

And in flight
he is given to new heights

She cries . . .
not, for what was

She sings...
for what is
and shall always be

She lives…
within him

In her…
he gains strength

And is lifted
upon those wings
which he himself

Has granted freedom

This is absolutely beautiful... and to know that it flowed freely between two poets rather than dripped as sweat from laboring pen makes it even more special. *S*

Guess it's time to say Hi and thanks to all of you that have taken the time to read this, and for the kindest of replies!

And a very special thanks to that very special someone who held my hand this morning, while I sat confused and alone as water from the hillside ran across the floor and the river outside swelled to bursting.
(with some luck I can return to the shack in the morning....and make plans to move. I've had enough.)

Kisses Susie (thanks)

Goodness all of you
have made me smile so
when this was the last convo we had before
that flooding, that dreadful evening
where I thought, my love
once found
would be lost . . .

and here he is writing beautiful words
which we have spoken and entwined
like braids within each other's lockets
eternal

I have to thank all of you
for reading such a personal moment
shared, but needing to breathe
thank you, for this
your replies and smiles

Julia, a blessing . . . a blessing
*smiling*

Eddie . . . isle of view
we should write this . . .
truly
that being the title
*smile*
love you baby . . .
