Some roads are just too dusty for my eyes,
and no matter how I prepare for the view,
my angles are always wrong...
too many sharp overlapped thoughts
that never seem to straighten
themselves out,
and the curves come up
too soon.
Guess I'll never be comfortable
on the highway.

i love to drive...but you're right, sometimes the dust limits your freedom. gotta learn how to see through the dust. when you figure out how, let me know.

and even when everything was wrong, and we were mad at the world, it was still beautiful.

no amount of fast-forward driving can clear all the dust clouds on life's highway,
but I know I'll get behind the wheel again

There are so many roads that one can take in life--it can be quite confusing at times--and uncomfortable!

Hope you're okay Kacy...
You seem sad and, oh I don't know...
maybe it's just me.
~Hugs YOU!~

(big hugggsssssss) And that is why I always take the RTD to Boulder! (sad sigh) I hope everything is alright, sweet friend, the Denver area has bad highway systems right now since the huge population growth spur has occurred and there is too little space for all those automobiles, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kacy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Kacy...we have those moments, don't we?  I felt some fear here...but I know the poet will conquer and go whizzing down the road again, soon.  Just don't forget to fill the gas tank!

Kacy, I know the feeling well
but something tells me
this Lady here . . . YOU
are pretty tough to keep
in one place for too long

All roads eventually
take us to the unexpected
where we are left the choice
to pass without understanding
or to stand
and wonder at the view

nicely done...

while I enjoyed..lol..I have another take on dusty roads. While the dust can be choking and coat you with grime, they also offer the best views...

I understand the intent of your poem and you convey it well... I just have love affair with back roads that slants my view to a different place when it comes to using them metaphorically...
