Time moves southbound
while a song plays on my mind
swerving in my own lane
and I can't stop thinking about you.

Blinking back my vision clearly
believing in what I can not see
I've far too many tears to go
to understand where I went wrong.

Glancing in my rearview mirror
but nothing's there to remind me
missing my mark a long time ago
brings out the worst in me.

Skidding sideways
while trying to find my way back to the sea
and my one true love who cares for me
to hold me while I weep.

But there are no headlights to follow
each fork pointing in the wrong direction
and so I wait for you to pass
to gage my speed.

What heart poured out here.

I've been waiting for you to post something, and I am not disapointed.

(big hugggsssssss) And that truly can be the hardest part, seeing what was left behind pass you by in the fast lane and forced to stare ahead and watch the haunting vision emerge from your blind spot! (sad sigh) I send angel comfort hugs your way and wish for the journey here to be on softer roads, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lori, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

I've far too many tears to go
to understand where I went wrong.

Sometimes, we never know... and that can be the worst of all... for the fear of repeating our mistake makes us unable to make any move. Excellent write!

Oh, lady... it's SO good to see you posting... you are an integral part of here... and it hurts when you're gone. *S*

Hi Bluesy....been missin ya.  Guess what
dear lady?   Even us guys have those moments
from long ago,  past mistakes that seem to
stick around like some lost piece of bubble
gum stuck under a table....

You are not alone....

Many years ago, I was riding in a car and I asked the driver why there was no rear view mirror.  He said, "I threw it out; what's behind me is of no importance."

I can not live that way, but I sometimes admire the concept.

To see you here again, to read your insightful poetry, makes my heart soar like the hawk.

Be careful out there OK Blues? It’s easy to get turned around  when the road being traveled is dark, and unfamiliar. Believe me, I know.  Do what I do when I‘m lost, and refer to the map that’s deep in your heart. It’s helped me on many an occasion, to get me where I wanted to, and sometimes, needed to go. Including, back home.

It’s nice to read your writing again!

You’ve been missed!

~ perhaps you did nothing "wrong" at all...

I really felt your words. Each relationship that we have, offers us opporutunities to learn and grow--and often the growing pains really hurt--as you have so poetically illustrated.

We're here for you, Lori!
