Bedsheet Cape
By: Noah Eaton
9/21/03

I look like a king in the glass house
I've pomegranate on a Tuesday morning
I've got these adamantine affectations
Bred-in-the-bone, shaped for sizing
Bel esprit Grade-A butterfly bullock
Bustling between busman's holidays
I leap high off my hamstring
Cruise-control renegade

I've never jumped so high, I've never felt so free
I'm a jack of all trades, and I'll give everything
Check out these gazelle moves, this whooping crane attitude
This is my love song to a little boy's imagination in June

Whoa, bedsheet cape
Hey hey hey, bedsheet cape
Whoa, bedsheet cape
Hey hey hey, bedsheet cape

You know you've got bridges to burn
You know you've got pills to swallow
You know you've got a Holy Grail to search for
You know you've got to write that novel
Then you clean up that basket case
Then you blow that final gasket
Then you solve all those fractions
Then you report all those infractions

I've never jumped so high, I've never felt so free
I'm a jack of all trades, and I'll give everything
Check out these gazelle moves, this whooping crane attitude
This is my love song to a little boy's imagination in June

I've measured the thermostat, I've read the kymograph
I wrote my own epitaph, then erased that
I've caught the copycat, I've been exposed with a free hand
I've committed freelance, danced with ants in my pants
I've measured the thermostat, I've read the kymograph
I wrote my own epitaph, then erased that
I've caught the copycat, I've been exposed with a free hand
I've committed freelance, danced with ants in my pants

Look now at where I am
I'm heedless, seamless, free-wheeling
I've taken this Pop Rock frenzy and chugged it down
I'm Goody-Goody Two Shoes striding on French heels

I've never jumped so high, I've never felt so free
I'm a jack of all trades, and I'll give everything
Check out these gazelle moves, this whooping crane attitude
This is my love song to a little boy's imagination in June

Whoa, bedsheet cape
Hey hey hey, bedsheet cape
Whoa, bedsheet cape
Hey hey hey, bedsheet cape
Whoa, bedsheet cape
Hey hey hey, bedsheet cape
Whoa, bedsheet cape
Hey hey hey, bedsheet cape
I'll wear you proud, wear you everyday...
I'll wear you proud, wear you everyday...

I don't need no proof when it comes to God and truth
I can see the sun set and I perceive

Noah, how I wish you could add your voice and the music to the words for all of us to hear you sing.

This evoked wonderful images my friend.

Lovely write, combination of little boys dreams and words of stories, nicely blended.
