The tracks fill with miles,
stretching the dwindling sunlight
and taking the sliver of moon
for a ride tonight.

Across the water,
the final bursts of birds,
cast the last moments of daylight,
richocheting off the flatfaced river
where all roads
lead to the lady of the harbor.

Life moves
between train stops,
sacred and absurdly meaningless,
all in  the same breath.

It's all just a coin toss,
as tracks wind
along golf coursed gated condos,
and rusted rails slice asphalts of broken glass,
beneath billboards seducing with $200 sneakers,
over streets where hope hangs in hoops,
of golden tickets out.

There is addiction everywhere,
dysfunction lives in a common thread,
weaving commuters together between the stations,
abridged and condensed life in window slices,
brought together by sinking suns and marquise moons,
in an hour on the Hudson.

I try in vain
to clean the shelves of mind clutter,
but find no resolution,

instead sip slowly the translike tonic
of the river of valium,

sitting pretty,
at a windowseat,
for the moment
sedated.

Michele,
makes one wonder if clarity is a gift
or a burden,

Lifes moves,
between train stops,
sacred and absurdly meaningless
all in  the same breath.

yes in the same second even . .
beautiful writing

Sometimes its best to silently ride, as passenger, very still and watch. Enjoyed

(big hugggssssssss) Though I believe it is OK to see such insanity and deep emotions from the inside looking out, I too believe it is best sometimes to lay back and try not to draw too much attention to it all before one's self feels queasy too! (sigh) You really bring out deep emotion here, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Twentytwenty twenty
four hours to go
I wanna be sedated
Nothin' to do and

I wanna be sedated

Yer such a cool babe!

There is definitely something missing when the world is passing us by, and worse, when the train doesn't stop here.

Loved this girlielocks~

This is excellent m.

Has that hypnotic rhythmic quality--comforting somehow.

(and it did occur to me that I could follow this up with Medicated on the Mississippi--but I'm sort of retired now--sheesh and winks)

I loved this, and hope to see more in this style from you.

I know this feeling. It is like I'm in a dream state observing life from a distance, and not being a part of it.
