This is a poem that I wrote for a dedication that was held today in one of my best friend's memory. Sarah passed away last December unexpectedly, and she will always remain in my heart. We had a beautiful day for the dedication and I just know she was smiling brightly down upon all who were gathered. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Memories of You A friend’s love cannot be measured In months or in years Nor in the amount of laughter shared During many late night cheers. A friend’s love is measured By the special things you did Sharing your friends, family, and love, The things that made you, splendid. Summer camp was where we met I smile as I look back through the years Who in the world could ever forget You, Christy, and I- The Three Musketeers. Arts and Crafts was our hangout A place to relax and have fun Mornings spent laughing and gossiping about The guys and the hearts they’d won. We became so much like sisters Together, yet usually apart The phone lines daily would purr As we shared yet another heart to heart. Special weekends with family Will always remain in my mind From sleepovers being sillynilly To surprise parties from time to time. Our lives may not have always been easy Through all my fears you held my hand Sometimes standing in the shadows But always there as my best friend.  (big hugggsssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, I'm sorry to hear Sarah passed away last year but know always your dear friend will be guiding you from up above with love each day and she'll forever be blessed with your true friendship! (sigh) I send angel comfort hugs your way, sweet friend, yay, I sure hope you post your gorgeous poetry more often as I've missed you so much, we all love you so much! Dawn, Treasured friendships are always full of memories, and through these memories we grow closer to our friends and others. Even though special people in our lives happen to leave us, they are still alive in our hearts as long as we cherish these memories. You have written a beautiful poem here showing us all how precious Sarah was to you, and I can tell she will always be there with you.
