The “Just Know” Times

A blessing or curse,
                  dependent on the cusp
of perspective

~*~

there are the just know times

when the day is rolling along
too well
                          and the phone call comes
you pick it up
                   knowing
your child has become ill at school
                                   even before the nurse speaks

~*~

the times when you put off sending
                   a letter of anniversary wishes

only to hear
of the separation three days later…

~*~

when, deep in sleep, the voice comes to you
in the dream, you turn to hold

a spirit
                   and you realize,
                                                  your soulmate

~*~

When the give and take
of emotions...
                                    wrenches a soul
                                           from its shadow

~*~

and neck hairs bristle before the telling
while the stomach, too tied up to be released
as the black cloth floats, descending

these are the knowing times

~*~

the electric is there
                           arcing inspire
the fiery moment
                                      to acknowledge!

~*~

Curse, or blessing?

I know now, I would not be
                                  without.

This thing you speak of,  I have had those
moments...  but I think women have them
more frequently from an intuition that was
bred into them thousands of years ago...

Becoming honed to a fine and sharp edge...

I pick blessing.  This is so, so wonderful, Karilea.  A keeper...yep!  And the next time my daughter asks me how I knew that something was going to happen...I will direct her here to you!

Sheesh, I missed this place!

(big hugggsssssss) It probably is a combination of both, sweet friend, I would never want a psychic to tell me my entire future as I want to find out for myself and let it be a suprise, though all at once it is important to have hopes, harbingers, fears, and premonitions! (sigh) Guess it's just the ESP kicking in, this is wonderful, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Karilea, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Lovely picture to go with this one. Good construction, and it made me shiver. I've never had a 'just know' moment, and I don't want one. I'm happily non-psychic, thank you.

There are those times....and I've learned to go with them, because they never fail to take you where you're supposed to be...

Yes!

Just practicing...that's a word everybody should keep on the tip of their tongue....

Yes, SunshineyOne....whether they are a "blessing or a curse",
I wouldn't know how to live without those "just know times", either.

I love this picture, too. Did you take it with your camera? I have a new digital camera, but I have got to do a lot of practicing before I can take pictures good enough to share. On my poem I've going to post now, the pictures of my dog are taken by Gary's Dad and a friend of mine.

Well, I guess I could have sent all that in an e-mail, instead of on your poem thread. LOL

hugs, my friend

Thank you, Everyone!

Yes, Ethel.  I have a digital camera that we got about [shock] a year ago!  It's kept me happy happy! and I would be horrified at the cost in dollars alone for film processing with my old 35mm.  Thank God for technology, digital cameras, and Ron's ever-expanding generosity over the share of bandwidth for use of our photographs...

This is something all of us can relate too. like I always know who is calling when the phone rings. I dunno...maybe that's just me but I really enjoyed this one. I was also thinking darker things, like someone died and you know. I think is has something to do with the air around you.

And the angel said unto me, "These are the cries of the carrots, the cries of the carrots!"

Karilea, it's a woman's intuition of 'just know' times.

Or when we say to our teenagers, 'I just know.Trust me on this.'

Another wonderfully written poem. Into my library and into my special book of poems it goes!!!

I too, thought i had replied, but know i've read it many times now, and each time, i'm in awe.

Oh yes, I couldn't do without. mine has saved me in such scary ways before. I do wonder how i survived without acknowledgement of intuiton some years ago.
once i found it, so to speak, i vowed to ALWAYS listen, no matter what, after ignoring it/ brushing the 'feeling' off so many stupid times before.

to my library!
