I want a sixty-six New Yorker
with the top rolled down
four-forty engine winding
at the speed of sound
you sittin by me in your
great big sunglasses
glammered up like
Jacqueline Onasis

I want to roll baby roll into the sun, set
I want to ride baby ride down that road
I want to feel you there beside me making me sweat
I want to roll rockabilly baby roll

Wish I could love you like
Johnny loved June
We would never stop until we
reached Cancun
I want great big speakers
blaring out Big River
I want to run off
and get married in a fever

I want to roll baby roll into the wild blue yonder
we'd never even stop to tell a soul
Let's ride baby ride and forever wander
Let's roll rockabilly baby roll

okay... so...I've had my head buried in about 150 Johnny Cash songs all week...

This rocks in a major way!  I sang this one twice...reminds me of my cruisin' days (daze), racing down south bound Highway 55.  I had a little Mustang..."Baby Blue 302."  Blew those big boys off of the road!

So making me smile this evening!  Thanks, Mr. Rebel!

This could certainly set a mood.   By George,

I do believe it did.  Yeah,  I could tell
where your head had been and you did it
right!

I've got my JO sunglasses on and I'm heading your way!   Shove, love! Move over and let's hit the open road! lol

Gosh, I really enjoyed this! It really felt like I had the wind in my hair! I usually wear it in a ponytail and it flies straight out from the back of my head when I bomb around in a convertible!

Hmmmm... with the top down, we might still be picking bugs from our teeth... and I can always find an excuse to hug you? LOL

I enjoyed this so much, my leather feathered friend. *S*

Ruth --     no excuses required... thanks... leather huggsZzzzzzz

Dixie -- just me being silly -- got your sunglasses?  [squeeze]

Susan, Susan, Susan, won't marry me?  (angst) but see, that's the whole point -- to be swept up in the passion and impetuously dive headlong into oblivion and devil may care -- and all that -- yanno???  *wink

EA -- thanks -- I'll save a spin for you..

Sunchine!  Thanks for rollin in again... It's kind of funny how songs just don't translate into good poetry (this one included) but glad you liked it

Magnus -- yeah -- I like this mood better -- I've ranged from tears to rage this week as I watched Nashville (my stomping ground) hypocritically re-embrace the man in black after his death.  I'm still trying to figure out why I took it so hard but -- I think I may have the answer.

Martie!  Not gonna be late with that 440 mopar engine -- but you might want to step back a little from the curb until I get it stopped!  lol... thankyou..

Ethel -- if you just cross Cry Cry Cry with Big River and rock it up a little bit more -- that's the tune -- I may even return to the studio and lay it down sometime... Thanks -- always glad to make somebody dance

KS -- Thank you -- glad you could get the rhythm...! *smile

Trica -- all you want to do is ride around Sallly... Riiide, Sssssallly... Riiide!!!  Thankyou -- just grab that Stang and meet me at the Mason-Dixon line.

Enchantress -- Let's Boogie -- Luther's playin... !

Thanks all!

(pssss.... if you really want some songs that translate well into poetry check out Lucinda Williams latest CD 'World Without Tears')

Sung to "Walk The Line"

I keep my pants up with a piece of twine
I keep my fly wide open all the time
Just say you're mine,
I'll pull the twine....

I've been humming Johnny Cash ever since he passed away....he was a good, strong, caring man....nice write Hawk....hope you're doing well....

Take me on a yonder ride
And let's enjoy our precious time
With passion and with blaring song
Can two hearts beat sweetly along

I love this.I can hear the music and feel the beat of your heart in this.
