how can we let one person
out of millions and millions
shatter us into pieces of
worthless glass?
It's not that we are not worthy
or strong and don't love ourselves
But one granular of sand
of all the beaches in the world
can ruin or devastate our lives.
Why is this?

Oh, I do love a piece that makes me ponder, PouringJewels, and this piece did exactly that.  Well done, and welcome to Passions. I look forward to reading more from you.

Best wishes,
/Kit

--because we allow ourselves to become  victims...

We often give our personal power over to others and lose ourselves in the process.

Thought-provoking write!

Julia~

Welcome to Passions!! (I love the name Julia).

I liked what you wrote, but I have to say that one person may mess us up but destroy us?  Only if we let them...

I look forward to reading more from you!

It's only because we "let" these things happen...We know better, always did.

I don't think I've welcomed you yet, so I'd like to welcome you to Passions.I think the reason is because we are a being that is full of such heart and soul that we allow ourselves to be touched deeply by someone. We are not here to live our loves as being cold and hard, but as tender and sweet as we can be.Just my opinion.heheh

"But one granular of sand
of all the beaches in the world"

it's simply because we care more about that one granular of sand, than any other on any other beach in the world. because it is our granular, because it is our heart. very thoughtful poem. :Þ

and even when everything was wrong, and we were mad at the world, it was still beautiful.

I like Sue's answer...smile.

A good question, Julia...and one many have pondered.

Hugs to you,
