In a fallen forest

  life is not still
  the wind is blowing
  broken perhaps
  but still flowing
  rattling leaves
  of golden crown
  orange and red
  fluttering down

In a fallen forest

  trees become bare
  bent and bowing
  choking perhaps
  but bear showing
  before winter
  white, gray, and brown
  nature stripping
  her mother's gown

In a fallen forest ...

  still leaves bare winter

One's outlook can be another's expression.

The beauty of the Autumn leaves replaced by
the somber and still image of winter's
sometimes harsh landscape.   Nice write,
Craig....Hope you are well.
