When you were growing up
oh how I miss those days
You with your sweet disposition
and all your winning ways

We used to play together
with all your dolls and toys
Since you are my only child
you were not around many girls and boys

I taught you how to dance
and how to twirl a baton
To throw it way up in the air
and sometimes missing to catch one

When you became a teenager
you talked to me about most everything
We joked around and laughed a lot
and together we would sing

We became so very close
like two sisters we would talk
We loved to go to the malls
to just look around and walk

Or we would go to the beach
to swim and lay out in the sun
You would get a real nice tan
but I would get a sunburn

Now you are gone far away from home
with children of your own
But you will always be my little girl
no matter how much you have grown

revisted because I miss her so

what a lovely poem...secret, just between us...miss those days myself...when the house was full of children's voices, sleep overs, dinners, making their favorite snacks...
But now the cycle begins again, as my son to, has his own child, and I'm so happy he's been given that opportunity, to love, to have children...now, he deserves his opportunities to....and so we let them go, but are there form them if they need us.

hugs and blessings and thank you for sharing.

I'm sure that your beloved daughter must have been very moved by this poem from her mother's heart. This would make a lovely framed gift for her. A constant reminder of your love and devotions and the wonderful mother/daughter memories you share.

--reminds me of my own daughters. They grew up so fast.

Loving hugs,
Linda

This is very fresh in my mind. It's been 2 months, 2weeks, 5 days, 2 hours, and 14 mins since he left. :'( Miss him much, but life cycles move that way, and now he is pursuing a life of his own. His mother always holds him dear in her heart..every minute of every day, and his brother as well. I can relate to this soooo much. Thanks for giving us a tidbit of your heart as all mothers do. to all the kids!!! They are wonderful.

I'm a new member, and this is the first poem that I'm replying to.

I know this feeling well and have written one similar.

Good job

I always wanted a little girl. I've got two boys, but girls are different. Isn't it awful when they move too far away?
