MESSAGE FROM ISABEL

I‘m coming to visit you
Heading towards your shore
Swirling counter-clockwise
And, might blow down your door.

You can put up your plywood
And stack sandbags all around
But you cannot stop me
If that’s where, I am bound.

There’s been others before me
And there’ll be more when I’m past
Some have been much stronger
And some, not blown as fast.

I know you love the ocean, but
Don’t you think, you’ll ever learn
What you build, you might find gone
When, if you’re able to return.

I’ll blow and the rains will come
And I’ll flood over the land
I’ll leave the ocean where you
Used to stroll upon the sand.

I hope you’ll heed the warnings
And not dare me when you stay
Sometimes if you wait too long
There’ll be no path, to get away.

My boss, ol’ Mother Nature
Will have Her way, do what She will
And She never will give up
Until, She has had her fill.

So hunker down and hold on
Under my bad weather’s rife
And, some may want to say a prayer
That, I will spare your life.

Naughty, naughty Isabel.
All anyone can do is hope to stay outta her 'angry' pathway.
Hopefully humor helps.

Abe, this is so true. Some people have lost their lives when they didn't heed to the warnings of a hurricane. I pray that this one won't claim any lives.

A good poem, my friend.

Nicely written.  I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that it takes it easy on us here in Northern VA!!

Thanks for the warning, Isabel! Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned! Why not take your revenge out on he (the devil?) who has scorned you instead of the North American East Coast!

Timely post--and an enjoyabel read--if it weren't a frightening reality!
