In These Hinterlands

The sky has been painted hues of azure,
And on the horizon the clouds seem fixed,
Mine eyes perceive foothills filled with allure,
'Tis here that the stream and river are mixed.
The sun gently caresses lush green fields,
Tranquility restrains times’ sweeping hands,
And piece of mind is what this vista yields,
Yet it seems there are none that understands.
It’s not the having I live for each day,
I care not the slightest for the urban,
Big city motifs are truly passe-
-Numbness that’s manufactured from bourbon.
In these hinterlands let live the thunders,
Of my bike as I drink in the wonders.

Oh yes, I agree, as so many of us write about, its the little things that make so much difference.  Appreciating an azure sky or the aroma of fresh cut wheat, the quiet of nature in her finest moments, there is so much to revel in, I don't have a bike, but I work in the woods, and there is so much wonder. Beautifully done, my friend.

Beautiful write this morn!
Your imagery takes the reader along for the ride on the back of your bike.
Love this one!

definitely a picture of beauty...and definitely preferred over the skyline of a city...IMHO

Great job...
