Launching

I’ve waited a lifetime to launch and
I’ve wait so long I’ve grown a paunch
Along with that I’ve lost my youth
And now can count each left me tooth

My hair has turned a sort of gray
Around the edges where they stay
And glasses now allay my face
Upon my nose they hang in place

I cannot run it is too hard
I mostly walk and give my card
And when I see a dream pass by
My only comment is, oh my

I’m still in wait my time of launch
My mind is clear, my spirit staunch
But I can’t see the length of wait
Viagra is a poor rebate

So tell me if I wait in vain
I weary of the loss no gain.

"I weary of the loss no gain."
LOL, the exact opposite thought of the proverbial dieter.

Your mots endear you to me even more.

P.S. Forget the Viagra. There are too many side effects. Have Isabel play that little tune that makes a cobra rise from its basket! lol

hiya Si, and Good Morning, yes, all is quiet, presently, thank you kindly for asking....a bit of a breeze is picking up, skies are marvelously blackend, my cousin phoned me and said the horses sense something coming...their all worked up, nostrols flarred, ears errect, widened eyes, they are stomping some, swaying, whirling in their stalls, snorting, didn't eat much, they know.

Don't know what to expect, but by God I am half tempted to leave work and drive down to the shore, which is only 2 hours away to see this....I know it sounds crazy, but...WOW Si, what a sight to see, nature in her angry mood.  and 20 to 30 foot waves....wow, I'm speechless.

I just hope and pray, no one is hurt, or there is not much property damage, but, I am sorry with regret to say, I don't think thats going to happen.

Hey Si, thank you for such a poem, sometimes I feel this way, as well, but then I smile and think, well, we have seasoned, with wisdom and a whole hoard of experiences we can savor, we have been blessed my friend, even with the physical seasoning a bit, the soul is still youthful, ripe and ready to go.  Smiles and hugs and have a super day.

There are several ways
to be launched...
and several ways in which
to launch others...

by your stead,
we all grow...

keep pitching those thoughts, Sy...
you are a standard by which many
would place their own flag.

Well done, m'friend...

Your wait, my friend, is not in vain
Though there are times it is a pain
To feel so distant from our dreams
The wait's not empty as it seems.
Each day brings us something to cherish
And if we don't let our hope perish
These treasured things can make us whole
Whether or not we reach our "goal."

I love this, Seymour... very much! *S*

Now hold on,  the last song has not been
sung,  nor has the dust settled on the
mantle....and "oh my".....NOT!  I think
you might say that but inside...inside
that crafty mind of yours......well....
