Frigid Ice Queen

Here stands the frigid ice queen
Solemn and placid
Warmth has left her body
She stands at attention
Awaiting the next gust of blistering wind
Hope for sunshine to once again return

Coldness has left her standing in her nakedness
And fearing what is to come
She reflects day by day
On how the world could have persecuted her
And left her in this congealed state

The sun
She sheds a tear of hope
The faintest ray of light appears
And softly embraces her
So warm
So gentle
A twinkle in her eye appears
As the sun edges its way out of the clouds

She has not seen sunlight for ages
As the sun beams down
Defrosting her
Color comes back to her pale face
Tears trickle down, no longer freezing her
Invigorating
Loving
Warmth

Here stands the woman before this ice age
Fear no more
The world is at her disposal
She knew the day would come
Where she could now be free
Free to make choices
Free to live

Thanks for this. I hope the sun someday peeks out at me, too

She has not seen sunlight for ages
As the sun beams down
Defrosting her
Color comes back to her pale face
Tears trickle down, no longer freezing her
Invigorating
Loving
Warmth

Loved that part!

(big hugggssssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, this is a very heartfelt and honest debut, adolescence is always such a difficult time for many like myself but in the end, you will find many blessings and know just how special you are! (smiles) This is wonderful, I love it! Welcome to Passions, sweet friend, may you be inspired by all of us here as we will all be inspired by your lovely words! I can't wait to read more of your wonderous poetry, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, thank you for sharing!

Thank you all for your comments and the wonderful welcome I have received so far!!  I really enjoy writing poetry, short stories, photography, drawing....but....the best part of it all is if my work impacts someone other than myself
