Passions In Poetry

Poets gather here to fight wars
Armed only in words.
Silver tongued devils
Steal my heart with each line.
I read. I smile. I cry. I envy those
Orators blessed with the gift,
Needing only a pen to move mountains.
Silence, fools say, is golden.

I lose myself within;
Nest between verses, finding comfort.

Poems are written by
Ordinary people and become
Extraordinary examples of literature.
Tales are told, life is extolled and every haunting word
Read leaves me
Yearning only for more.

Ron, Your job here is not one I'd want for the world, but without your presence the world would be a much smaller, much lonelier, and much worse place to be. Thank you for all the time, money and effort you devote to keep this place running and most of all, thank you for believing in us.

Thanks for expressing with your loving words how we feel about this poetry site.
Thank you Ron so much for your time. So dear friend stand up and take a bow.
Thanks to all at PIP.
From a writer of words, a storyteller and a struggling poet.

I can't begin
to count my own smiles,
but I look across the blue
and see them on most all of the
faces...

Thank you, Ruth.

Hoot,  you forgot one thing....you move
those mountains as well.  Thanx for a tribute
that is certainly deserved,  for without Ron
and Passions,  our world/lives might be
far less full and enjoyable.

For all that Ron does, and goes through for so many. I think that it is tributes like this, that help make Ron feel like this is all worth it. And that he is doing something that is so positive, for not only all of the people who have ever written something for this site. But for the countless thousands (millions?) of people who have enjoyed reading all of the wonderful poetry, and stories etc., that have graced these pages over the years.

And let me just add, that Ron, not only should you feel like you have been doing something so meaningful, and worthwhile, you should know it. Because you really are!

Thank You Ruth for such a thoughtful, and heartfelt tribute, to the man, who started it all. It is a nice reminder of who we have to be thankful for. And it is so nice to see someone as caring and giving as your self Ruth, do something this kindhearted and considerate. And for the rest of us, it is a great opportunity to show our appreciation, and gratitude.

Thanks again Ruth, this was very special!
