Misunderstanding

I invited
myself somewhere
I wasn’t
welcomed
and tried to
give you
an unwanted gift
imagine
my surprise

well I'm surprised that anyone would turn you down.  Sad, good.

I can't imagine a place where you wouldn't be wanted, or a gift of yours that wouldn't be welcome.

And I can't imagine a place where you wouldn't be welcome, or a gift of yours that wouldn't be wanted.

Sweet little poem, written so transparently that the reader sees only the subject and the person who wrote it, not the words.

been there, done that. and it always hurts. if your recipient had perhaps seen you, really seen you and what you stand for, they might had reconsidered. hence the age old phrase: it's the thought that counts. thanks for sharing the thought.

and even when everything was wrong, and we were mad at the world, it was still beautiful.
