(written for someone else) I fell for love Seeking that which you Did not offer My head knew better But my heart wouldn’t listen My mind reeled Leading my heart to Need you Only to hold you Only to keep you near My love runs deep Even in friendship Bubbling from the pith of me How could I have known That with your freedom My heart would confuse and shake me… How can I ask forgiveness for this mistake Please Please know This fear of loss Keeps me holding even tighter; Don’t go so completely from me… My friend, I need you As you were before— I ask nothing else… But this, Please forgive my fall… --dgvarner 083103 "Now would you mind if I bared my soul / If I came right out and said you're beautiful..."
