Special Day

Here upon this special day
let us take a moment to pray
for those who have been left behind
also for the loved ones held in mind.

Let us not forget all that was given
to preserve the lives that we are living
please let us take a moment to pray
as we remember....this special day.

In memory of 9-11-03
God bless the USA!

I must have had my momma's will
and Gods Amazing Grace...

I'm a survivor....
(Reba)

There is a story behind the poem.
The local radio station Cat Country 106.7 just used it for part of their show. I wrote it right after I heard their conversation with Trace Adkins this morning about how he wrote one of his songs right after he visited ground zero right after the tragedy and his story inspired this.  He said "seventeen acres of total destruction, you can not imagine that."  I felt every word of that, and it inspired this.  I havent written since January, so it felt really right.  I appreciate your thoughts and pray we all remember this day.  Writing is my way of remembering.  The radio station used my other poem that I wrote on 9-11 the day after the tragedy happened.  It almost feels like a tradition now!
Thank you.
Donna

Hi, Donna. I have been periodically sending some distant healing your way. Hope you are well on the mend.

I join you in prayer for those who were lost and for those they left behind. A graceful poem of remembrance.

Loving, healing hugs,
Linda
