Poseidon sleeps
and so do I
resting, snuggling enclosed
in the arms of the deeps.
Caressed by the rise and fall
of the tides in swell
like the sea people are caressed
by the sands and the weed of the ocean.
Sighs of contentment
surround me
and I sway gently
to the music that encloses me
in opalescent wonder;
dreaming deep dreams
and knowing salted kisses,
as the king holds me in his arms

No trident formed tempest below me
no hand of salvation to subdue
the contentment that washes over me.
I will rest for a while and then move on
taking my dreams and my dance
to another place
while Poseidon sleeps.
And I
smile forever -
locked in the embrace
of Davy Jones
who holds my hand eternally
where Poseidon sleeps
and keeps me forever in his care.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

Kethry...there is such a comforting
and peaceful feel to this.
So beautfully penned...I truly enjoyed.

A lovely poem to end my day with.

Sweet dreams...I know I now will.

KethryLove~
The anniversary of this day
turns memories in abide
When in New Poet Richey
friends stood side by side~

Laughter rang across the bay
with friends-in-gather
on that day ...
tenderly etched with this heart
for all of time
will never depart~

Bond of friendship
circled wide
tending friendships
of gentle abide~

Dang it ... I'm just all sentimental remembering~
Love you my friend ...
and miss you~

Now ... your poem -

'knowing salted kisses,
as the king holds me in his arms'

I simply LOVE the thought of this~
Beautifully done sweet poetess~

It took a special touch to write this poem, to make it a beautiful thing and not the dark reverie it so easily could have been.

You made it happen.

Hi Kethry. Just read your poem...and the responses you got. FIRST - I would like to say I love it. SECONDLY - I suppose it is true everyone can read something different into the written word. The others see peace and contentment. I saw the words Posidean and Davy Jones and salty lips. In my eyes I see a person who wanted to drown. Not trying to be morbid...just thought you'd like to know what this piece gave to me. I really do like it. Thanks.

Beloved heart I absolutely love your use of language in this. The softly enfolding comfort of the deep sea, that snug blanket of silence that wraps around like a shroud, you couldn’t have put it better. Do I love this? You know I do, it is I think so evocative in its speech pattern of the flow of water. As for what the message is I know what I read in it, I’m sure others can see different hidden depths. I particularly love the Davy Jones reference, I always loved that pirate sea shanty. You are an amazingly gifted writer

Love you always
and forever

Tomorrow is another day I don't know what it holds
but I can face the future with courage brave and bold

Kaoru,
Thank you - it felt rapturous writing it.

MERCURY,
I'm glad you like the images - it means some of what was in my head transferred to paper.

viraynes, I guess when I think about it, I intended peaceful.

suthern,
definitely a treasure *wink

Earth Angel,
your affinity for things earthy is showing. Dream on.

Marge,
you are as precious to me as the day we met. Thank you for the gift of your words.

James,
Thank you for seeing beyond the moment to the intention

nakdthoughts,
lovey - maybe not exactly that type of contentment, something similar would work better.

Evocative Verse2,
Not necessarily WANTED to, but more embracing the inevitable. Thanks for seeing the depths of this. *Grin

Marsha beloved,
you always plumb the depths of my work. Thank you.

Keth
