What must I do to make you hear,
My simple words, I love you dear?
Lo’ I am but a man; no more,
No god from high on heaven’s floor,
Who sings a song of heaven’s splendor,
Just simple words is all I render,
I love you dear from forth my lips,
Your beauty doth the moon eclipse
In radiant glow, my fairest rose,
You are my life, my heart’s disclose,
So listen not of gods above,
But to my words, ‘tis you I love,
As to fair rose, I sing my song,
Of simple love, of my heart’s long.

I can sense the yearning to be heard. I hope your intended reads this. What a lucky lady to have a man to write these things to her!!!
A for your hearts desire! The object of your affections. This was so touching. Lovely one!

Oh goodness, this is so beautiful, Tim. Like Kacy,
there seemed to be a special scent to the words.
Just beautiful!!

i liked this
an honest attempt at an old fashioned love sonnet
brave of you to try -and a good try it is

splendour is pushing it a bit -but I have done worse
well done

This is beautiful and the meter and syllable count are perfect!
