Etched in the illusion of time

0 posted 2003-09-10 04:24 PM

Making peace with fields of dandelions
Brushing her hand upon his flushed cheek
She paints with sighs of love, for ne'er she speaks
Tongue tasting joy from stars of Orion
Oh, lady! He worships benighted eyes
Her cinnamon hair finds lavender scent
Perfection neatly penned in soft lament
'Tis faintly elegant, the way she dies
Earthen lover, hands so pale 'gainst dark skin
Why the passion like ice, in wintry fear?
'Tis not but summer laced with autumn dear
Where jasmine crumbles in papery sin
She is poet, bestained with these fair words
And he loves her, since their silence he's heard

For saints have hands that pilgrims' hands do touch,
And palm to palm is holy palmers' kiss.--"Romeo and Juliet"
