It was yesterday, that I am sure of,
when my heart skipped, my mind
went awry and my mouth became
suddenly dry and speechless.

Yesterday, almost four decades ago
when God let me see, let me know
a person who is now half of all I
am or will be.

You barely knew me, that tall slender
sheepish grin.The hazel eyes that
so adored every curve, every line of
elegance.I knew then, that moment
that I loved you, though in my awkward
way, my stumbling manner.....I failed
to say it.

You thought I was a bother, that no
matter what, no matter when....I was
just another male after the appeal of
what he saw.....Yes, I was and I saw
a very appealing and sensuous young
woman, still growing, yet so ready
for the savoring of a first kiss.

I still remember that first kiss, the
first moment sitting beside you, the
first touch of what I had never felt
before...Even now, after all these
years, you still know how to wind
my clock and make me tick....

The clock is ticking, though slower
than before.And the fires still
burn....Come, stoke my fire,
light the candles...Let me taste the
sweetness of a kiss I shall never
forget...

Have you forgotten?

I'm sure she hasn't forgotten! You're an incurable romantic, and we love you for it!

Barry... Beautiful words spoken so softly from a true romantic. Enjoyed very very much. It's been 3 1/2 decades for me and the fires still burn...Paul

First, may I congratulate you both on four decades together?  How wonderfully uncommon in this day and age, Barry.

Second, she could never forget when she has your beautiful words to remind her of your love.

A lovely write, my friend.

Patricia

Thanx to all....we have been married 34 years.

And I have known her 38 years....so, almost
4 decades....

we have our moments,  just as everyone does.
Both the sweetness and the trials...

Congratulations, on everything
achieved, and everything still
to be captured...continue the dream...
and she will live forever in your soul.
