on the open road with the wind blowing in my hair

i hear names
dreams that are long forgotten
aspirations that blew down a dusty road
love that was lost
put on hold for a reality
that left in the winter

yes, i hear the wind
and it is a sorrowful cry
leading in the thunder
rolling out the blue sky

i hear the gusts
out side in the night
telling me of previous generations
and all their fights
i hear of joy
and boyish pride
i hear of soldiers going over
to fight the other side

yes, i hear the wind
and it is happy sigh
leading out the thunder
and rolling in the blue sky

i hear the howling
when the man does not return
the girlish pain
and it is all alone
i hear lost voices
never meant to be
i hear it all
inside of me

and i wonder,
when will my kin
hear me as just a voice
howling in the wind

the only people for me are the mad ones-mad to live, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at once--jack kerouac

Keep howling, Noah, but don't worry about who listens. Eventually, all the tunes will circle 'round.
Loved the write, so I'll keep it, thank you.

Often too I have shed tears in wind
Unlike you, the wind howls, I silent cry
