Blame

By this time
I had talked
To others about you
They told me to walk away

I never admitted how
I really felt
Not even to them
So it was easy

To tell me to forget you

But I knew
They didn’t have the whole story
I didn’t tell them
It was partly my fault

That I should never
Have told you
I didn’t want anything
More than casual

When I really didn't know
what I wanted
until it was too late

You had already pulled away
and I will never know
if it was self protection
or my denial

So I take most the blame
For how I feel now
And what became of the us
That never really was

A great tale of a love lost (Its always in the last place you look). Terrific stuff.

how much we take for granted at times...and how we would do differently now....we live and learn and go forward....hoping to desprately grow and change....to complement those who touch our lives, with love and understanding.

I've been reading these, enjoying them...
Really, a very nice introspection.

we lived parallel lives...
word for word almost every verse:
You had already pulled away
and I will never know
if it was self protection
or my denial

So I take most the blame
For how I feel now
And what became of the us
That never really was

Mercury~Thank you!

Sy~Thank you for reading me!

Lee~She doesn't speak how she feels b/c she is afraid of rejection and b/c she doesn't, he has no clue...

Ed~Thank you so much!

M~She recently got the answer you know.  They talked and he said he thought she didn't want more...now it's too late.  So it was self-protection on his part...sad.

KristieSue~Thank you!

ah.. fact or fiction.. you paint the story well and show the struggles within using an honesty of self and of surroundings..that is to be respected...

nicely done Susan..

You've brought me to tears.
I didn't want to remember but you made me.

Nevertheless,
It's nice to know you're not alone.

Each chapter pulls me more and more into your story.I can remember this feeling and sometimes it causes us to sufeer and lose alot, but on the samehand it teaches us lessons to use in the future to guide us to that perfect love.Kepp going girl
