Within the bitter reaches of the night
When all seems lost and hope is fading fast
Tis then the angels' wings begin their flight
You hear them as they're gently rushing past

Beyond the stars betwixt the night and dawn
Those angels' wings are close and hold me near
Although I may be feeling so forlorn
Tis through the dark I know there's naught to fear

Those angels hover near me till I smile
They're holding me to all that's good and right
They warm me with their wings a tiny while
And then I find my battered heart takes flight

They hover close until the early morn
And heal my soul to watch the new day dawn
