The river still flows by strong,
But cherry blossoms are gone,
Spring to summer and now fall
Wiping memories from all.
Political desires,
Beneath domes and round spires,
Society, government,
Museums and monuments
Fill the clean central broad streets
Made for all the tourist feet.
But while the halls hold talking
And the street fills with walking
The river continues on
It’s flowing is never done.

Gloom

Good morning, Professor!

As you know, I love to read your observances and little snippets of the world as seen through your eyes. You give life and meaning to what most people give only cursory glances or see not at all. You look for the deeper meaning. You open our eyes and cause them to really see...

This one was especially moving.

Lovin' hugs,
EA

Thank you, Lee J
Pleased you enjoyed.

Thank you, Earth Angel,
This is an inspiration poem, from my early morning reading
And reflections of the past. The inspiration was from Cui Hao [ Ts’ui Hao] (670 – 727)
“PASSING THROUGH HUAYIN” which was a capital during his time.
I drive through the middle of Washington DC every week.
You are always so kind in your response.

Thank you, Professor for the thoughtful explanation. I think it is wonderful that you read books such as those.
