where the wild flowers grow

0 posted 2003-09-02 01:28 AM

A halting breath escapes
a wall of vine.
The hint of necromancy
fills the moonlit air,
ashes spread to conjure

A pillar vein
pumps blood through
petrified beast..
a black summer,
a shedding tree..
grows new skin.

Upon the ground
a shadow dance
of swaying leaves
wind slithers
through the wood
in whisper primeval

Runic hymns
pierce the din
of  sylvan creatures
relics and bones
in the firelight
the ancient Oak
bears witness

a groaning hiss
a siren's cry
escapes in rough echos
an adversary temple,
the ache of frozen growth

stone grieves
of thirst
moon glint
as steel cuts
through the darkness

cold grin
the satiated
rises in flames
descends in mists
that spread across
this tired earth

endemic feather
drenched in the poison
of life's morbid, blinking eye
mercury river, tempting ..
numb seed of pomegranate,
stain of death in the sky

This is so full of deep emotion. The metaphors and the imagery show me this so vividly. You two are a great pair that can bring such realism to this write.

Good God!
Raph and Meg!
This is one of the most
brilliant duets I have read!
Made me feel as if I were
in a ring of trees . . .

Passion fueled, I see two,
metaphorically the Earth
rising above, no one hand to
another, overcoming . . .
THIS

Just amazed you guys
this is midnight . . .

Wow! absolutely fantastic you two... this reminds me of the bush fires we had last summer... I'll never forget.

More please

PS. Keeping it.

yes, its all there,
in this,
the dark, the deep, the mystery and the beauty
just like to revel in it all, who needs the light?

Fantastic, This breathes with life...and death. These lines in particular are brilliant "drenched in the poison
of life's morbid, blinking eye"

This is a study in archetypal visions. It stirs deep waters.
