Settle down, the deep blue night
Prophetic glow of clouds alight
Trill harmonic August clear
Heightened hearing, inner ear

Calm, a prickled summer star
Mellow sonnet left ajar
Peepers chipper lady slipper
Kisses called ‘neath little dipper

Melody of night confounding
Building rhythm sound surrounding
Cleared debris of packed full day
Falls night music swept away

Unpretentious deep blue sky
Fond above, kept watchful eye
Orchestrate the songs of soothe
Fold me into velvet smooth
