With a long trip ahead, I thought I'd take
A while to relax on a breakfast break
But it seems I'd barely sat in the booth
When I gulped, having swallowed half a tooth!
That wonderful breakfast I couldn't use
And a senior discount wouldn't refuse
Why should I care that I don't young
When I have a curious sliced and diced tongue?
Dental clinics are closed for holiday
So I buy benzocaine, hope for a way
To live with this pain that shoots through my skull
I thought my weekend would be rather dull!

*sigh* true... all true... *G*

*ouch*

sorry Auntie... I'd suggest my old standby but a toothache and a hangover would be bad...

I have seen some temporary filling stuff at Wal-Mart in the pharmacy section -- you my try covering it up with that just to keep the air off of it

Sure your not just looking for some more brand names? LOL, its a private joke (for now)to anyone who reads this reply.

Oh, but I do know about this, as it happened almost one year ago the week after July 4th for me. I ate a banana and a previously fractured tooth broke in half.
ICE packs and aspirin, or ice cubes and alcohol to drink. Guess you'll figure out which I chose.

Seymour: A hug ALWAYS helps... especially yours! *S* Thank you, my friend. *S*

littlewing: You would think I wouldn't swallow right after such a crunch... but reflexes are fast at all the wrong times. *G* Thank you! *S*

Martie: Then you know it's no fun at all. *S* I feel like I'm in one of those Mervyn's commercials... only it's the dentist's office I'm outside begging to open open OPEN! LOL Thank you!

Marge: I thank you, dear lady... so much. At least this didn't happen before the Toe visit... even though he might have appreciated a bit more silence from me. *G*

Nightshade: I hate it, too! *G* Thank you very much, my friend. *S*

LR: I'm willing to risk it... pour me a double! LOL And yup... air is a MAJOR ouchie. *G* Thank you! *S*

garysgirl: This definitely isn't one of those "hurts so good" thinggies. LOL Thank you so much! *S*

Midnitesun: No ice... no cold... puh-leeze! *&S* I'll settle for the aspirin and alcohol. LOL Thank you! *S*

ROFL.... I think I could handle all of that except looking like Bal... he may be handsome, but I'd like to look a tad more feminine! LOL

Thanks, sweets... very much. *S*

*sigh

this happened to a friend of mine, he went to the dentist and was put on so many drugs he sounded kinda like Rocky saying "ADRIANNN", for two days.

It wasn't really all that funny.. (maybe just a little)
I felt bad.

Great write.

How awful! Why is it this stuff always happens when the dentists and doctors are closed?  The poem was funny, but not the situation.

(big hugggssssssss) Awwwwwwww...I'm so sorry to hear about that, dearest friend, though I haven't had that experience yet with an adult tooth, as a little boy I remember when one of my last baby teeth was ready to fall out and in an attempt to pull it out it slid down my throat and I choked on it a bit and truly got scared, and why shouldn't I? (sigh) Here's healing angel hugs to bring comfort to your heart, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Suthern, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Kaoru: It's not at all funny when it's your mouth! LOL Thank you very much! *S*

Pilgrimage: I don't know... but it sure does make for a long weekend... and unfortunately, the end of the weekend didn't signify the end of the problem! *S* Thank you very much! *S*

M'toe: I've been ready to tie a string around this one and do the old "slam the door" trick... just don't think it would work. *S* Thank you so much! *S*
