Ache

The days turned into
Months
The time I spent with you
Became rare

Occasionally
I would get up the nerve
To ask
For you

Only occasionally
Because I was so terrified
Of rejection
A self-fulfilling prophecy

By this time
I knew I wasn’t
The center
Of your attention

So many promises
Of time spent together
That never came
Still I waited

I was beyond
Caring of the humiliation
I just wanted to touch you
Whenever you let me

Crystal~Thank you for being so loyal in reading these.

Meg~Thank you, I honestly don't think they are that good...but I liked writing them and find something soothing in posting them.

Keep em' coming, I am waiting *she taps her foot on the floor*

Iknow how demeaning we can allow our love for someone become...but it is wise not to compromise who we are for someone who wishes to take advantage...no one is worth that!

I hope you don't mind me saying

Love to you

Lee~I don't mind at all, I enjoy everyone's thoughts....the thought I am trying to get across with these "chapters" is that sometimes we are so afraid to take a chance that we lose out on what could have been.

Oh how I rattle on sometimes...

Thanks for reading and responding!

Susan

Susan, these are so compelling. I love the way the story is unfolding.

You project the pain well.
I understand this very well.
