Listening to every heart

0 posted 2003-08-31 09:11 PM

Embittered

A stone shatters clean
Glass houses in which some live
Hold enemies close

Think not one’s choices
Are gone unheard ~ deaf of ear
Lips slip, speaking lies

Hide facts under rock
Scissors that cut truths won’t break
Though still some write on

This heart, embittered
Missing lives that once love held
Open honesty

Where once some weighed Fact
Now pride won’t let them step down
We yearn for our Friends

I will stand alone
Seeing front and back, as is
Even, side by side

Bitterness will fall
We keep as we lose, in kind
Truth will float, in light.

~*~

Matthew 5-37
Simply let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,'
and your 'No,' 'No'; anything beyond this
comes from the evil one.

~*~

No buts or ifs heard
I will let your yes be yes
And your no be no.

Hi Sunshine, and I agree with Wind about it having the feel of multiple Haikus, yet with the same tones and feelings.  Wonderful piece this is, and I love it...~S~

In the light of truth, darkness must vanish.  You made me think this morning of something (someone) of which the truth must be accepted, so that I may walk in the light.

I took your words to my heart and there they will remain.

Yes, another great poem from your pen. Thank you, Karilea...
