Forever in Full Bloom

Early pluck of vine,
not yet in full open,
grasped firm ‘tween his
fingertips

Admiration
Adoration

Both desire
her bloom
he, in her devotion
she, in time and motion

Yet, choke of stem
brings pause
as color
drains in touch of
heated breath

Sealed
in press of his thumb

She, in
early spring

helpless,
hopeless,

Without root
to sustain
past summer

Dare she
a prayer
of
autumn’s breeze

before winter’s final kiss?

With song of psalm,
she scatters

Seeds of possibilities...
Forever in full bloom
