Morning Struggles

There is punishment to my thoughts
as I swallow them each morning for breakfast.
No weight gain, but the burden is just the same.

They bicker with one another
their tones gentle, but the insanity of it
is needed, until my denials are emptied
and new thoughts can be planted
seeding another day.

I will don my shades, hoping
for that summer rain, waiting to be soaked
so that my mind has another place to wander
and those thoughts of you are cooled
by the dampness behind these walls.

I apologize to no one for my attacks of heart.
I break them down into word games,
a jeopardy of trial, an error of conviction
and struggle in the simplicity of my mornings
wondering if I will always feel this hollow...

Don't you ever apologize for writing from and to the heart

Your work is a tender touch, and I feel you here.
Happy Saturday morning Maur~

M.  I agree with Lori.....you write so well
of the inner part of you that might not ever
be seen if not for the elegance of your
poetry....

I am so glad you have stayed with us.
Even if I am not responding much on any regular  basis,
I am always reading when I have a moment to relax.

Nothing to apologize for, when you write so openly from the depths of a very big heart.
And I do understand this one, knowing that some thoughts and feelings are difficult to swallow.
