~* Sweet Apparation *~

Not even a single breeze to whistle me a happy tune,
Still there are stars in the sky, blanketing the moon.
Flickering fingered shadows dance upon the raging sea,
Beauty is all around me, but you’re not here with me.

Love and loss of a special friend mingles in the evening air.
The ache inside my very soul is almost more than I can bear.
Tears roll down my cheeks, I wish so much that she were here.
She was the other half of me; oh how I wish she would appear.

The heavens seem so sensitive to my excruciating pain,
Dark clouds of compassion are rolling in again.
I can smell the rain welling up to hide away these tears,
I sit here warmed by memories of over 50 years.

A crinoline of sadness rustles up through the dancing trees,
I crumble to the beach, head down, hands folded on my knees.
The thunder like my sorrow builds perhaps it knows my pain?
Lightning strikes once, then twice, then over and over again.

Was that your flaming temper saying, “Get up off your knees?”
Do you hear my prayers to you? If so, tell me please!
You’re somehow fading from my mind, now photos take your place,
I want and need you here right now, I need to look upon your face.

The sky has opened up its gate, torrents of rain are pouring down.
I am so lost in this grief; I can’t even hear the sound.
A trick? Is that us dancing there upon the sandy shore?
I see our figures twirling before me, and I crave for more.

Hours pass, the storm lessens, pitter patter here and there,
As it tap taps on nearby rooftops, I now become aware.
Such calm and peace restored again like magic this sad night
She may have been an apparition, but still I know I’ll be all right.

The moon it haunts my memory, and sends me to the sea,
Especially when I’m feeling blue, missing her here with me.
Memories come flooding in with each pounding surf and wave,
Visions of her restored in my mind, I can put away and save.

Yesterday I wondered why I couldn’t see your face,
Today I imagined I saw you dancing with me, in all your tender grace.
I will search my memory when sadness and sorrow start,
For it's there in those memories, I’ll find you right there in my heart.

Thanks to Poetdevine for this, and of course this is for a new page for Willow at my site.Thank you for sharing.

You answered all your own questions with that beautiful last line...
and you already know I understand where this comes from...
In the end...we will always find our peace in the traces left behind.

That pic is absolutely adorable, what a treasure to have.

Thank you for sharing Willow with us again.

When was the last time you felt high
Oh you were the best I've ever felt
Its so wrong not to be with you
Its getting harder to stay away.

This one is very special. There's an aura of love surrounding everything you did here. I could feel it. I did. Special.

Sharon, when you write of Willow, you give me tender-hearted goosebumps, my friend.

This is absolutely beautiful. The way you pulled the imagery of the storms into your feelings was incredibly emotive and visual.  This is such a lovely tribute. You have done her proud as always ... and she knows it.

Best wishes and great big hugs,
/Kit

Suthern you made my day and I mean that!

As for Willow and I, well, I have finally reconciled to the fact she is not here, will never be here, and thanks to Mz. Poetdevine, I know how to conjure myself up a really good laugh about us when I need one now.  I even told Willow last night as a matter of fact, I hoped she was as miserable as I was, but somehow where she is, I really doubt it.

Hmmm, knowing her though, I wonder if she got tarnished wings, LOL.

Thanks everyone for helping me through the bad times, now they will only get better.  I was SO lucky to have had her as long as I did, and I am grateful you let me share her with all of you.
