Don't Know Which Is Worse

It really isn’t my style,
To fall this hard this fast,
And anytime I do,
2 weeks is all it lasts,

So why should you be different,
From the ones that come before,
What is it about you,
That makes this time hurt more,

Is it the way you smile,
The depth in your almond eyes,
Or the way you make me laugh,
That makes me want to cry,

I can’t decide which is worse,
To hold on or walk away,
Don’t know how to tell my heart,
It can’t keep hoping for “someday”

But I’ll still let myself remember,
The sweet things you’d say and do,
I’ll let the tears fall freely,
Until I’m finally over you,

I’m just gonna smile,
Swallow all my tears,
Walk like it don’t matter,
Gotta act sincere,

Hopefully they won’t see,
Through this thin facade,
How I opened up my heart,
And for that the price I paid.

Please God let me find someone new,
To distract this hurting heart,
Please keep my mind from thinking,
And tearing myself apart.

A could’ve been but yet a shouldn’t ever be,
Baby, you’re a contradiction that’s killing me.
