Saluting with misty eyes

0 posted 2003-08-29 09:56 PM

She screams silently
Looking in the mirror
At the face so betrayed
By time and life
Old beyond her years
Living beyond her means
Once she was a beauty
Until she looked up
And realize the beauty was gone
It had all been illusion
And so, accepting
She quitely went to her grave
An old maid and alone

We are all equal but we’re individually different
and able to reach the impossible if we try.

How sad that her inner beauty was not revealed...outer beauty is just an illusion...  great writing here, Ringo, I know about silent screams.   ~K~

Brad . . . I didn't expect this . . .
when you said you were going to write
of silent screams . . . but

Looking in the mirror
At the face so betrayed
By time and life
Old beyond her years
Living beyond her means
Once she was a beauty

Goodness . . . I think I recognize her
This is amazing , sad, so sad, but amazing
xxoo

Ethyl- Thanks.

Tima- Thanks for the kind words.

Kahlil- Sometimes what's inside doesn't actually count. Thank You.

Sue- Didn't expect it?? Maybe that's a good thing. Thanks so much.

I couldn't resist the title of this... it's been my state of being since breaking a tooth at the start of a holiday weekend. *S*

I really like the stark quality of this... we can hear the desperation though no sound was uttered. Great job! *S*

OMG! That is so incredibly sad!--but you wrote of this poor woman's angst and sorrow very convincingly. I feel like crying!
