A woman's history writes itself
easy in her temperament
pressed between the pages
fading over time.

Slightly frayed in tattered verses
lending character to her words
alternating between second thoughts
each chapter well defined.

A clear viewing
as both the heroine and the villain
a hardcopy neatly bound
self edited between the lines.

Searching for the meaning
as a reader and a writer, as a woman
to be accepted and understood
remaining true to herself.

Pouring through an open book
hearts race beside each other
contemplating love
with each turn of the page, opened up.

Captivated by hopes and dreams
wiping away tears that sorrow brings
for all that was lost, twisting the plot
contemplative in the end.

Left to question why and how
the story line played out
in stages acted upon
and what it's really all about.

Book marked in a time and place
with quiet acceptance when the ending nears
to draw on the meaning years from now
while pondering my novel lover.

~Duly noted to my muse~

A central part of any life well lived.

Great stuff!  Thank you for sharing it.

Sorry it took me so long to get here Loribell, but last time I was in a hurry was around '93, and I'm a bit out of practice...
(I'm glad you edited that one line, it wasn't you, I didn't think...)
It's a delicate balance sometimes, this edge you learn to walk, but it really is just a matter of trusting...yourself.  Yeah, I know being blonde and all, that can get kinda scary, huh?
