Listening to every heart

Send it to us

If not for the hose
the green would be brown
as the pocket’s green flies away
if not for the hose

We water the birds and squirrels
because we feel
their panting
and we’re getting too old
to not feel their pain

Who hasn’t mentioned
the conditions
and I’ll show you a stranger
traveling through

Even the weather channel
defies what we see
as the storms of today
seem to be flung out North,
South, East and West
as if an eggbeater had settled over us
and went whipping the clouds
into motion, away…

or had I danced in frenzy
with arms outstretched
while the beat of my heart
was pounding in my ears
a step too long

Send it to us…
the tease of shower in the sun
only tipped my nose
adding steam to the air
as it sizzled away

Send it to us

Even the cicadas crackle in cry
as we walk through the idea
that tomorrow will be worse,
yet

Send it to us

We need it more
than they know.

I'd send you what little we're getting now, but we need it too.

as if an eggbeater had settled over us
and went whipping the clouds
into motion, away…

Love this image Karilea.

I hear you, my friend...we need it too...this week the temps have been scalding...110 degrees, factoring in heat index...sheesh, St. Louis humidity. And I live about 3 miles from the Mississippi River.

Maybe if we say it three times...really fast and click our heels..."I want some rain."  Nah...that was something about going home, wasn't it?  OK, my brain still hurts.  LOL

Nice write, Karilea.

ahaha . . . I love Kacys' reply

Karilea,  thinking really hard over hard , eyes shut tight , mumbling jibberish lol

I know . . . we just had a huge storm, finally

Beautifully put, as always

I'd send you some English rain, but I'm afraid there isn't any!!!!  Strange for here, too.  Get out there in your yard, and do a rain dance, girl...that ought to stir up a nice shower or two!!!  loved this...~S~

I loved this part, Karilea.
I love the new picture, too.
You smile is like shunshine, for real.
