where the wild flowers grow

We had no sky, at times,

*nous avons taché nos mains avec le vin.

Danced along with the wind,

*nous sommes lavé les mains avec le clair de lune rouge.

Letting lingering memories finally rest,

*Faire vous vous souvenez de la façon nous avons dansé, oh l'amour, de peur que nous oublions.

Watching from the outside, in on us, the moon..

*Mes yeux ne laisseront jamais vont.

------------------------------------------------

Translation

* We stained our hands with wine.
* We washed our hands with the red moonlight.
* Do you remember the way we danced, oh love, lest we forget..
* My eyes will never let go..

This is beautiful, Meghan.  I see two poets intermingling cultures and thoughts, so that no matter what language, the poetry streams on...

I enjoyed this very much!

As you have so wonderfully illustrated--love is beautiful in any language!

this is so beautiful..even more so because it's written in french, my all time favorite language. into mi biblioteca this one will go.

And palm to palm is holy palmers' kiss.--"Romeo and Juliet"

This is elegant word-tapestry,

*shaking head* Wow. That is impressive. You always use your words well, and beautifully, and the mingling of French and English only adds to it....

I like your mix between French and English. Great poem!

the memories of love never leave us...
what we felt stays in our hearts..
and the words we'll always say....
*je me souviens*.... I remember.....
