isn't it funny
just how
one can assume
that none of
this really matters
yet still
find oneself
in the deepest
darkest corner
of pain
crying
reaching out
but not really
quite sure
what
they're supposed
to be reaching out for
yet again
only assuming
thinking
all is
in vain
that
noone is ever
going to listen
nor catch them
when slipping
on chards
of silver tears
when all have failed before
yet
someone
anyone would be nice
but
retreat
as soon
a stranger
appears
from out of the shadows
willing to lend
an overdue act
of friendship
isn't it funny
how
I
am one to assume
that none of this really matters
yet find myself
reaching out
but afraid
I'm only
doing
such
in
vain...

If at first you don't succeed destroy all the evidence that you tried.

I know exactly how this really "is". I know exactly how it feels. It's a real struggle with self, I think.  Oh, I know....  You've expressed it well.  ~K~

You're amazing. (Have you been reading my mind lately?) I remember reading your poetry a long time ago, and being really impressed. Now I'm disappointed that I haven't kept up on my reading. I'm finding that I've missed a lot. I absolutely love this, and I'm glad I haven't missed it.

Never in vain, my friend , never - you have done your part and be proud of yourself for reaching out, even if the hand is bitten more than once . . .

I hope it's never in vain.
I really do.
Thank you for this read.
